Each year, club members collect new and gently used children's book which are distributed by Club members during the Annual Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department Halloween Parade. This year, over 2500 books were distributed to children along the parade route.
AREA V WORKSHOP- October , 2009
The Area V Workshop, hosted by the Richmond Club, was attended by more than thirty participants. The theme was “Patriotism” and the decorations were festive in red, white, and blue. Presenters from Martinsville-Henry County, Charlottesville and Tidewater Clubs presented information on various aspects of patriotism. Participants were honored to hear from Governor Nancy Minter and Governor-Elect Sandra Craig who were both present, along with former governors Berthenia Cromwell and Ann Ayers.
